[grisbi-user] Creating budgets from previous years transactions?

Is it possible to seed a budget from the previous years transactions?
All my transactions are categorised (I wrote another program to take
the download QIF statement from my bank and process it to add
categories) so I know where the money gets spent.
What I can't work out is how to easily create budget lines that match
these categories (and is that even the correct way?) and to populate
them with historical data.
What I'd love to do as well is to build a monthly cash flow project so
I can track expected spending against actual spending.

Am I expecting too much from Grisbi?
Am I going about this the wrong way? (I know my goals but not how to get there)
