Summary: macOS Catalina: Grisbi is not able to open files in
user Documents directory
Description:
Because of new restrictions in Catalina grisbi is not able to browse the
Documents directory from the file selector.
I guess a authorization request call is missing to mac macOS happy and allow
access.

Steps to Reproduce:
Get Grisbi 1.2.2
Put a .gsb file in user Documents/ directory
Try to go to the Documents/ (or another directory) from the "Open" file selector

Additional Information:
It is possible to open files in the user home directory.

more informations :
After Catalina upgrade on my iMAC, I could open my file in Documents directory
with Grisbi 1.2.2
The problem appeared when i tried Grisbi 1.9.0 version (replacing 1.2.2
version), then it didn't accept to open my file in Documents directory.
i decided to re-install 1.2.2 version.... and....the same problem.
So, i move my file in another directory, and that work fine....

Hi, I confirm, still relevant today.
I've upgraded my OSX without looking on the web regarding the potential problems
that this migration might bring, and now my Grisbi is unable to open any file
located in "Documents", exactly as written in the ticket description.
OSX: 10.15.2 (19C57)
Grisbi: 1.2.2-86a2992c1

Due to many "improvements" in Catalina I do not plan to move from Mojave to
Catalina.
I have no idea how to solve this issue and I don't know when I will have the
motivation to work on it.

Actually I've found a workaround.
You can move/copy the folder that contains your gsb files in a new folder,
created at the same level of "Documents". e.g. "/Users/<my-account>/grisbi".
Launch Grisbi again, select the "new" file, It works again!

So if it can help, I am happy to share ;)

The problem is not that Grisbi does not work with Catalina.
The problem is that it can't access files in ~/Documents/

As you wrote, moving the .gsb file in a ~/grisbi/ directory is a solution.
