Description: 
I downloaded latest grisbi from Glondu's PPA.
As it was in beta release, I cannot set the financial year in the
preferences. Any combination just produces error (red color).

hi,

Grisbi use the numeric date format for example MM/DD/YYYY and not
accepting the format that you tried.
